This RP is set in an alternate universe. It is not based on any books or movies.

The year is 1596. The White Tower is one of Six Towers that house students aged 16 and up. These students are capable of using magic, either because they have special gifts or because they are chosen by Deities. Those chosen by Deities are also called Riders. Riders are capable of a lot of magical feats but they are mostly known because of their companions, called Muto. They are seen as the protectors and helpers of the world. They are often called upon when there is a magical creature attack, if there are impending wars and conflicts to be resolved. Riders are also known as inventors and scholars, artists and healers. There are very many branches in which Riders can help make the world a better place.

Of course not every Rider is good by nature or anything of the sorts. They are still simply people and have their own personalities, they do not necessarily agree on how to handle things and infighting isn't unheard of. As well as some of them becoming entirely selfish and using their powers simply for their own good. The schools do try to steer their students towards doing good and trying to help others, but of course this isn't always achieved.

The world itself is a mixture of advanced in things such as electronics, science, and equality and on the other hand underdeveloped when it comes to weapons. This mostly because when it comes to wars and conflict magic is mostly used. The development in weapons/explosives is no further than gunpowder weapons. (So no handguns etc.) Most electronic development can be seen in the towns around the Towers. This mostly due to planesight and planetravel by Riders and other magic users. The Towers are connected to each other by a network.

White Tower and the surrounding town are located on the Tiwi Islands in Australia (as it is known on Earth 4), in this world the location is called White Tower Islands. Unlike the Islands on Earth 4, large, snow topped mountains can be found on these Islands. All of the Towers are governed by Riders and Other Magic Users, they have a central ruling body that don't answer to any of the other countries leaders.

The other Towers (from which students can of course transfer if this is something you want to do) are:
o The Fallen Tower - Yoroshima Island, Japan, Asia
o The Ivy Tower - Key West, USA, North America
o The Ivory Tower - Delta du Saloum National Park, Senegal, Africa
o The Red Tower - Texel, The Netherlands, Europe
o The Black Tower - Isle Isabella, Ecuador, South America

New students are usually found/discovered by Riders and/or people with Foresight. They can be found at any age really and are taken to one of the Towers if they are at least 16. There are special Riders and/or Foresight users assigned to this task. Riders are used because their Mutos can sense the Potential within a future Rider. Those with Foresight are used to find those with other Magic Abilities. These people are called Seekers and usually go out in groups of at least five people, max ten.

If you are missing any information in this profile please whisper a mod, they will either point you in the right direction or the profile will be edited ASAP.

[NOTICE]
- If you do not log in to your character for an extended period of time your character will be removed from the list website character list. If you wish the rejoin you might find that certain roles/Deity your character had might be given away. If you know you won't be able to post for a while be sure to inform the mods so we can make an exception.

This is so that we do not have lists full of inactive characters. Create and run characters (aka created a profile and never came back) will be removed after two days unless otherwise specified.

Events
This is not exclusively a school setting, or in the traditional sense. Slice of Life -IS- possible, but there are events/monsters/creatures to fight. The 'students' are all being trained, but other characters are also expected to help (Teachers aren't there to just look pretty!). If you have an idea for an event or a side plot that involves multiple characters, please let us know so we can discuss it.

Main Plot

10-07-1596 Due to the danger posed by the spiders and more than a few rumors of approaching doom, two worlds have been found and designated as safe zones for both the general population and for the population of the Towers.

The general population will be sent to Haven. The work for this has already started and this will continue to be done so until July 20th. The Towers on all six continents are making use of any able-bodied individual – teacher, student – to make sure things run as smoothly as possible. They are faced with some adversity.

Due to news outlets, conspiracy theorists and the like, a part of the population (roughly 2%) believes that the Riders do not have good intentions, or that everything is a hoax, that there is no threat coming, or that the spiders themselves aren't dangerous. Others are starting to panic; afraid they won't make it off the world before whatever threat is coming arrives. Riders and other magic users are tasked with making sure that these two groups don't cause too much disturbance.

They will be faced with protestors, people trying to block others from getting to the portals. Stragglers, people that really do not want to leave the world. They are not going to be forced to do so, but several Riders are going through the streets to see if they can convince these people to go through the portals to Haven. Some of these people will threaten them and/or get violent towards Riders. Stay calm, do not use magic to alter their minds to come with. People must go through the portals of their own free will.

Haven has been set up with the basic amenities. Housing has been erected magically over the past few weeks, along with food, medical and the base necessities being provided. It is not yet known how long the people will have to remain there.

The population of the Towers will be evacuated to Eredei, some are mandatory such as anyone below the age of 18, pregnant women in the last two months of pregnancy as well as the parent(s) of a newborn. They will be joined by a few educators as well as health care providers.

02-05-1596 Small teams of students, TA's and teachers are being sent off world to find a world where people can temporarily move to while the current threat on their own world is being dealt with. This will happen intermittently until a suitable world is found. The first group is set to leave on May 8th.

14-04-1596 - Several people have been reported missing or dead over the whole world. It is suspected that this has something to do with the spiders. Said spiders now seem to be immune to any strength of magnetism, magical or not.

10-04-1596 - The spiders have become immune to the weaker kind of magnets. Stronger magnets are needed to catch them. If the spiders are destroyed/'killed' they fall apart and the pieces turn into even smaller spiders.

08-04-1596 - Dastyr Maxwell died. It is unclear as to how he died other than that he felt like he was grabbed from behind. He didn't see who or what killed him, the death happened near the Ferry between Revasan and the main island.

03-04-1596 - Spiders! Spiders everywhere! All over the world tiny robot spiders have been spotted. They are about the size of a tiny baby spider, so hard to actually see. They appear to be harmless, at most they can prick you with their tiny legs or give you a tiny little shock. So far it is unclear as to what purpose these spiders serve or where they originate from. They seem to be susceptible to magnets and can't free themselves from them, though it doesn't short them out. Water and the like does not seem to effect them. 'Killing' one of them requires a lot of blunt force or an EM pulse. If you manage to catch some, make sure you give them to engineers so they can inspect them. Students and teachers alike. (Engineers and other characters that logically might be able to figure out what they are/what they can do, please DM one of the mods)

08-03-1596 - Unbeknown to the people of the world the Gods have reinstated that non-physical contraception does not work for those of 18 years and older. The only caveats are that women will not get pregnant within a year after their last pregnancy (unless desired) and if it is physically or mentally harmful for the person to not be using contraceptions. This is mostly because the population of this world is still very low and there is trouble abound. OOCly this means that if your character has intercourse you can either decide that the female is impregnated (this can be discussed between players) or you can decide to roll a dice for it. Usually this is done by rolling a 1d100 if it lands on either 1 or 100 the female character will be pregnant.

Houses

Houses are chosen at the start of the fourth year. There are no standard requirements for garments so long as the student and/or teacher does not show their privates or nipples (this goes for both male and female). Classes are not restricted to houses and a choice of house does not restrict you in your choice of classes, it merely indicates where your focus lies. The classes listed here are also not the only classes that are available to you, even in the direction you might choose.
